Griffin Watson is an Associate in the firm’s Philadelphia office where he works with the Workers’ Compensation team. Griffin joined the firm in 2025 after graduating from law school and passing the Pennsylvania bar.
Griffin graduated cum laude from James Madison University in 2018, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and international affairs with a minor in French. While at JMU he was a dedicated member of the Rowing Club, Canterbury Episcopal/Anglican Campus Ministry, Honor Council, and Madison Equality. During his sophomore year, he published “The Land of Steady Habits: Anti-Abolition and the Preservation of Slavery in Connecticut,” a research paper exploring the history of slavery in the antebellum North. He also presented historical research at conferences across Virginia throughout his undergraduate career on a variety of topics. He spent his junior summer studying restorative justice in South Africa.
Griffin earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in 2024 which he attended as a Beasley Scholar. Between JMU and Temple, Griffin worked as a Congressional Intern for Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, as an Administrative Associate for the SS United States Conservancy, and as a law clerk. While at Temple, Griffin served as a staff editor on the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal. During his 1L summer Griffin interned with Spruce Street Consulting, a well-regarded elections consulting firm, working on accounts ranging from U.S. Senate candidates to local nonprofit organizations. During his 2L Spring and Summer Griffin interned with a personal injury firm based out of Los Angeles, California, ultimately staying with that firm in various roles until moving to BBS.
After growing up all over the Northeast and abroad, Griffin returned to Philadelphia in 2019, where he has family roots going back 12 generations. In his free time, he enjoys genealogy, working out, collecting art/antiques, reading, and supporting his husband’s music career.
