Casey Hemphill is an associate in the Pittsburgh office of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC. He focuses on defending insurance clients in automobile and general liability matters. Casey is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.
In addition to his litigation practice, Casey is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). This credential demonstrates his expertise in U.S. privacy laws, regulations, and frameworks governing the collection, use, and protection of personal data. With this knowledge, he is well-equipped to advise clients on compliance, risk management, and data privacy best practices. He also maintains a strong national network of privacy and cyber law professionals.
Prior to joining Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg, Casey served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted a broad range of felony and misdemeanor cases from inception through trial.
Casey earned scholarship awards to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Law and Commerce and served as a Teaching Assistant for the Cyber Law and Policy Seminar taught by former U.S. Attorney David Hickton. As a law student, he also played a pivotal role in advocating for the expansion of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Diversity Clerkship Program to include additional groups of diverse candidates from regional law schools.
During his undergraduate career at Kent State University, Casey was selected as one of a small number of students nationally to serve as an Associate in the White House - Office of Presidential Correspondence. He reviewed letters sent to the 44th President and contributed to selecting the ten letters personally reviewed by the President each evening. Casey later had the honor of delivering the keynote address at the first book tour event for Jean Marie Laskas’ New York Times bestseller, To Obama: With Love, Joy, Anger, and Hope.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing sports in the community and giving back through service.
