Jean H. Kang is an associate at the firm’s New York office, where she focuses her practice in special investigations and fraud. Prior to joining the firm, she was the appellate counsel and supervising attorney of motions for a Wall Street based firm whose main practice area is insurance defense. She handled uninsured motorist and no-fault insurance appeals, with over a dozen reported decisions on issues including the timelines for verification requests, tolling of interest due to delayed prosecution, and challenges to arbitration awards on the basis of the standards of proof for fraud.
Jean commenced her career as Law Secretary to the Honorable Donald W. deCordova (ret.), Justice of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Subsequently she was an associate at a New York based firm, where she practiced insurance defense, and was an Agency Attorney for the New York City Department of Education.
Jean received her B.A. from Wellesley College and her J.D. from American University – Washington College of Law. She is admitted to practice in New York, and the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Jean’s interests include exploring used (and new) bookstores, and when possible, traveling to foreign countries.
